Artisan Guidelines

Effective date: June 23, 2026

Artistry Fair was built to celebrate the beauty of true craftsmanship. We believe that the people doing the creating should keep what they earn, and that buyers deserve authentic pieces with a real human story behind them. To preserve the integrity of our community and protect your digital storefront, every artisan on the platform must follow these guidelines.

1. What Makes a Product "Handmade"?

We want our collectors to buy with absolute confidence. An item qualifies as handmade on Artistry Fair if it meets these core tenets:

Created by You: The item must be designed and physically constructed by you personally, or under your direct, close supervision in a small-studio environment

Traditional or Modern Crafting Techniques: Whether you use an ancient woodworking chisel, a sewing machine, or a modern 3D printer to construct an original design, the human element must guide the process

Limited Production: Your work is art, not a factory run. Goods must be produced in small batches or made-to-order, rather than rolling off an automated mass-production assembly line

Originality Matters: Your items should reflect original concepts, patterns you own, or display a significant artistic modification of existing materials

2. Application and Shop Verification

Because we actively fight dropshipping to protect genuine makers, your seller application requires transparency. To go live and maintain an active status, you must provide:

Workspace Verification: A photograph of your studio, craft desk, workshop, or sewing area

A Peek Inside Your Process: A short written description or work-in-progress photos showing how raw components become finished art

Material Integrity: Basic clarity regarding the primary materials you use and where you source them

The Verification Check: If another user flags your shop for reselling or dropshipping, you agree to cooperate with our support team by providing a quick video or proof of your process within 7 days. Failure to do so will result in the suspension of your shop and subscription status

3. What We Do Not Allow

To maintain a safe, welcoming, and legally sound creative environment, the following items are strictly prohibited from being listed or sold on Artistry Fair:

Dropshipping & Reselling: You cannot list items that you did not design and make yourself. Shipping a product from an outside commercial warehouse, mass-distributor, or overseas marketplace directly to a customer on your behalf is strictly banned

Mass-Produced or Imported Goods: Standard wholesale commercial stock, bulk commercial components sold as finished goods, and unaltered factory items are not allowed

Regulated Consumables & Hazards: We do not allow the sale of alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, weapons, illegal substances, or home-mixed medical/health remedies

Dangerous Materials: Explosive items, flammable liquids (outside of properly wicked, standalone decorative candles), and uninspected toxic chemical mixtures are prohibited

4. Community Standards & Review Policies

Our digital marketplace operates like a physical art collective. Respect, kindness, and direct communication are required to keep the market healthy.

Honest Reviews: Reviews are meant for honest transaction feedback. We do not tolerate review extortion (where a buyer threatens a negative review to force a free item or cash refund) or retaliatory behavior

Platform Abuse & Off-Platform Transacting: Using Artistry Fair's internal messaging tools to intentionally divert transactions away from the platform to evade system operations or subscription integrity is prohibited

Safe Communications: Messages between buyers and sellers must remain free of harassment, vulgarity, hate speech, or spamming behaviors. We reserve the right to review flagged messages and suspend accounts violating this baseline

5. Intellectual Property & Copyright

We respect original creative expression and expect our sellers to do the same. As an independent business owner and the legal Merchant of Record for your shop, you are entirely responsible for ensuring your listings do not violate anyone else's intellectual property.

Respecting Trademarks and Copyrights

You may not use copyrighted characters, corporate logos, trademarked brand names, or protected artistic designs belonging to third parties without express written legal permission from the owner.

How to Report Infringement (DMCA Notice)

Artistry Fair complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe an item on our platform infringes your rights, email copyright@artistryfair.com with the following:

1. Identification of the original copyrighted work being infringed

2. The exact URL of the infringing listing on Artistry Fair

3. Your name, address, email address, and phone number

4. A statement that you believe in good faith the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law

5. A statement made under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are the authorized copyright holder or legal representative

6. Your physical or electronic signature

Our Protocol Upon Receiving a Notice

When we receive a valid DMCA notice we will remove or disable access to the infringing listing and notify the seller with a copy of the claim.

Seller Counter-Notice

If you believe your listing was removed in error or that you hold full legal authorization, you may file a counter-notice by emailing copyright@artistryfair.com. Your counter-notice must include your name, address, the listing URL, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was an error, and your consent to local federal court jurisdiction. If the original claimant does not file a formal lawsuit within 10–14 business days, we will restore your listing.

6. Shipping, Fulfillment & Returns

Because buyers pay you directly, you are entirely responsible for fulfilling your orders safely and managing your own customer relationships.

Honoring Processing Times: You must fulfill and ship items within the estimated processing windows displayed on your product pages. If an unexpected delay occurs, you must message the buyer immediately to update them

Mandatory Tracking: To protect your shop from payment fraud, you must upload a valid shipping tracking number (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) to the order panel as soon as a package is handed to the carrier

Your Shop Return Policy: You have the freedom to set your own return, exchange, and cancellation rules (e.g., accepting returns within 14 days or marking custom pieces as final sale). Your specific rules must be clearly displayed on your shop profile. Buyers are bound by your posted policy

Damaged or Missing Packages: If a buyer contacts you regarding a broken item or a lost shipment, you must work with them in good faith to issue a replacement or process a refund through your Stripe dashboard
